God Bless America!

There was a tournament last weekend at Kaanapali. Maui Sand Splash was the organizer and we all would like to publically thank them for the great tourney.

The winners were:
Mens:

1st Place Mike and Keoni from Kauai
2nd Place Rob Myers and Cody Cowell (Maui)
There was also a 'Queen of the Beach' won by Cia Goods.

The tourney was a lot of fun and enjoyed by all.

I made it to the court again last Sunday(9/16), I even got to play a few games. I haven't been playing the last couple of years so I didn't do too well. I even got picked up by Kevin B. and lost. That takes some real effort. All in all though I didn't feel that bad. I fully expected to play worse so compared to horrible I didn't do bad. The best part is I feel in good shape, now I have to get rid of some rust and I'll be fine.

There is so much I could say regarding the Terrorist Attacks against the U.S., but won't. I feel terribly sorry for all those who lost their lives in NYC. The U.S. does have many hero's. One thing I can say for sure, is it will take a lot more than that to bring us to our knees. I pray for calm heads to prevail and systematically and methodically go after those who wish death to us all and get rid of them one way or another.

Went to the court on Sunday again (9/9). We had both courts going, with plenty of players there. Kevin Baltonado and his gf Tanya showing up. They are visiting from California for a while. It sure is good to see Kevin again. Too bad we have lost him to the mainland.
There are plenty of other players that were at the court on Sunday. Too many to mention. Visitors as usual were there playing too. Our court on Maui is one of the friendliest courts anywhere. Everyone is welcome to play. They just have to challenge in and wait their game.

Went to the court on Sunday and played some volleyball. There weren't many players there but some fun games. Rob M. and Sean, Ken H., Aaron, Sean R., and Jeff Poppinga all were there.

The U.S. didn't fare that well in the GoodWill Games. It was a sweep of the men's and women's division by Brazil. Barbara Fontana and Elaine Youngs were the highest placing U.S. womens team placing for Bronze. The highest placing men's team was also for Bronze (Metzger and Wong). These two guys are from Hawaii so that makes it even more of a success for us here in the islands.

There is purportedly a big tourney coming in Oct. I'll keep you posted here when I have more concrete information.

The Kamaole I players are going full blast! They are playing nearly everyday and it appears they play until almost dark.

Herm Denitz's Grandson is already a volleyball star. Jacob Denitz won his division of the 12 and under AAU Tour Championships. Many of you might remember the his father and Uncle Mark and David Denitz who were in the top 10 Open level California Beach Volleyball players.

Allison (sp?) Jennings, also a friend of our court won the 16 and Under divison. She is the daughter of Rick and Claudia Jennings.

Jacob and Allison

We are proud of you!

Happy Birthday Mallica and Marissa!!

June 27th is my darling daughters birthday (Twins!!!).

I have changed ISP (Internet Service Providers) after 7 years at my old one. Their service was getting worse and worse so I switched. I am now on Flex Net. For several months now I have been using them and they work a lot better than my old one.

There are some tournaments coming up very soon so check back in again to see the information.

Hope to see you at the beach soon.
