5/30/00- This was a busy week on Maui. The Maui Music Festival was here in Kaanapali, it was Memorial Day, plus a lot of other activities were going on. We are having games everyday due to the regulars coming to the court. This week I have run into a lot of old volleyball friends. I saw Jerome and Wendy plus Willye J. at the Kihei court on Memorial day. They are playing but not as much as they used to. I am currently only getting to the court on Fridays and Mondays

5/12/00- I keep getting email from people that are coming here and wanting to play or that has been here and telling me how good of a time they had while they were here. It is sure great to hear all the good reports concerning our courts.

Anyone is welcome to play on our courts. We have two courts. You should watch the games and if you don't feel like you are up to the level being played head to the other court and play. We do play mixed and play it often. The courts are ours and do not belong to the state or a hotel. Many people get confused and insist we turn the courts over to them so they can use them.. We are willing to let you challenge in but not give up the courts..

I had some fun games this week.. I got to see some of the gang I hadn't seen in a while. As I have mentioned before we have some new players and they are a pretty good group. Their volleyball is good and they seem to be great people too.. We needed new blood on the court.

5/1/00- Our little spell of windy weather is gone and people are starting to come out and play again. When you are spoiled like we people on Maui are, you don't go out unless the weather is perfect(which it is most of the time).

Tom Thayer is back on the island and will be hanging and playing for a month. Sue Holmes is here from Santa Cruz, Ca. and playing some ball with us. We have several new players at the court. We welcome Rob, Ross, Sean, Aaron and all others I haven't listed( I didn't cause I haven't caught your name yet.)..

Kevin and Sheri are here, Sheri is leaving this week and Kevin will be leaving in a month.. He is going to go to California to play some vb on the beach there (L.A. area).. Anyone needing a very good up an coming partner grab him while you can.

There are tons of Aussies on the court right now, they offered me $50 an hour today to coach them in vb... I guess they are having a 6 person tourney this week and want to insure that they win... the only problem is that other teams from there also have approached with offers of money to be coached.. I can't do it because of work but hopefully someone will give them some pointers.

Anyway, I'm back! See you on the courts!
