7/26/99- My daughter Mallica comes in today for a 10 day visit. She is arriving from San Diego. I can't wait.

I didn't make it to the court this weekend. I went on a Sierra Club hike. This hike was a 10 mile hike to Honomanu Valley. We went the entire distance in the trees, many beautiful waterfalls and views that were breathtaking. It was raining the whole way in and then nice and clear on our return. I would highly recommend this hike to anyone, the only problem is that it is in a restricted area and the Sierra Club only takes hikes in twice a year. If you can arrange it this hike is a MUST.

I'll be at the beach today playing some vball, and report more later today on the volleyball.

We have a couple of new players at the court. Aaron, from Oahu and Derek from Kauai. They are good additions to the court we need players!

Miguel, Dan S., Aaron and Derek were there on Monday to play... We got in 3 good games and stopped because the wind came up so strong.

Remember the court now is at the Sheraton end of the beach.

See you on the court!

Rob and Betsy are back from their vacation to the madland. Rotten has left for his European Vacation. The rest of the gang is pretty much here except for Kevin B. which is still on the West Coast but heading off to Chicago with Sheri later this week or next.

Wil Sharpe and his soon to be wife Francis are here visiting from L.A. They will be getting married on Wednesday. Robert Chavez, wife and kids are here playing too. The Wegnes are here from Hermosa Beach and playing lots of fun ball on the court. There are many other people here too, but I didn't catch their names.

We are happier now with the court back down at the Sheraton end of the beach. We have our shade tree back, which makes life on the hot beach much easier.

I'm heading off to the beach later today to play, lets get some games in!

We have moved the court, it is now at the Sheraton end of the beach. I got email from Kevin B. and Sheri today, they are cruising the mainland and heading to Chicago. Kevin hurt himself in a bicycle accident and has 16 stitches in his leg, which has slowed down his volleyball. By the time he gets to Chicago he should be well and be able to play with Tom Thayer.

Scot is heading out for Europe in a few days, I am not sure of the details but he and his future wife are going on a sort of pre-honeymoon. I haven't had a chance to talk to Colleen and Eric but am sure they are doing well at home with their new babies. Sean Rudesill is back and playing again.. He was visiting his new sweetie in Vancouver BC..

Have a great week, see you on the beach! Aloha

It is 4th of July weekend on Maui. Ka'ana'pali is jammed with visitors frolicing on the beach. There was a huge party sponsored by Hotels and Restaurants on the beach. There also was a huge fireworks display on the night of the fourth.

On Saturday I went to a Buddhist O-BON festival. It was a spectacular night with many colorful lanterns, O-BON dancers, music and so much more than I can describe here. Just let me say that it was a great experience.. Thank you Georgia!

Eric and Colleen had their babies on the 30th.
Twin bouncing baby boys..
Congratulations to the new parents!
