8/30/99It has been windy lately but the gang is still playing at the beach.. I have mostly been playing on Mondays and Tuesdays lately(sometimes Friday)... so don't really know what the weekend gang is up too. I heard that this weekend there were players and they had some fun games, but not a lot of players. Scotty's Wedding is coming up in about 3 weeks... that should produce some news for you to read. We did play today. Tom Hunter, Mike Carey, Kevin J., Barry, Larry, Pono and myself played...

8/24/99Summer is nearly over, most of the players are back on the island now and playing ball. It has been a long slow summer for volleyball on Maui. There have been games but not lots of good games. There is a constant stream of visitors coming to the court wanting to play. I have noticed something about the visiting players.. The rules of the game have certainly slacked off a lot on the mainland. Players are mangling balls and believe they have put up good sets. It seems as if sloppy ball is now allowed so that all can play the game.

8/10/99Scot is back from his European Vacation, I haven't really had a chance to hear his stories yet but I do know he went to London, Ireland and Scotland. Sophia went to Italy with her mother and Mossimo for a little vacation. Ken Harris is waiting for his new computer to be shipped from Quantex, so far it has been two weeks and no computer. He is beginning to worry. Herm's grandson Kyle Denitz, is here getting ready to go to school at Universith of Hawaii Manoa. He has been recruited to play on the mens volleyball team. Way to go Kyle!
I understand Pooky is playing fairly regularly again, I just don't seem to be at the court when he is playing. Joe Bock, Mike Carey and Brooke are playing a lot too. Kevin J., Tom Hunter and a few other guys are all playing during the weekends.

8/2/99Herm is back from his last excursion to the mainland. We played some vball on Friday, he played well. Watch out, Ken Harris has bought a new computer and will be on the Internet soon. Expect emails from him at anytime. Wil Sharpe and his new Wife Francis were in a automobile accident a week ago. A person tailended them at a stop light but they escaped injury. There were 5 cars in all involved. Latest news of the week, Mike Carey has gone blonde. The island seems to be jammed with people this week.. I hope they all brought money and are spending it all, our economy sure could use it.
