4/26/00- The Maui Marriott is going to be closing down most of the hotel for renovations. Our courts currently are in front of the hotel on Kaanapali Beach. The hotel says they will be closing off all the hotel grounds and grassy area fronting the beach and directing people to walk on the beach. With that in mind they say that we have to take the courts down. Yes, I am sure we will do that. They seem to forget that it is not their beach, it is a public beach.

Mike Carey, Ken Harris and Sean Rudesill and I sat at the beach all afternoon on Monday waiting for a game.. The only problem was there was never four of us there at the same time. Perhaps I should put on another tourney to instill some excitement about the game here on Maui. Things seem to have really cooled off.

Oh, I read in the paper that the gas prices have dropped again on the mainland. So far here on Maui they have dropped 2 cents. The lowest we have here is $1.99, this is mostly because the gas refiners and distributors have a monoply here. We have no place else to go to buy gas.. What are we going to do? Not buy gas?

Mandrake Linux is still working great for me. I am slowly getting all the tools I need to work with on my Linux side. Nothing like a new OS to work with to keep one busy.

4/21/00- I had a major Hard Disk crash, most of my stuff was backed up but not all of it. I lost email addresses for one thing so if you don't hear from me, you'll know that I have lost your address(email).

For those that you that are interested. I have switched to Linux, I am now running a dual boot machine, with Windows 98 and Mandrake Linux 7.02.. I have been intending to switch to Linux for quite some time and this HD crash did it for me.

4/5/00- We have had extremely strong winds the last few days. So, we came up with high wind volleyball Maui Style. The game is simple, we had to toss out our leather beach ball and use a green coconut instead. The advantage of the green coconut is that it is heavier than a dried out one. Now there is no way the ball(coconut) will blow away when set or move wildly during a serve. We had to adopt some new rules, now a player can hit with two hands, mainly because a 5lb coconut doesn't move to quickly when hit with only one hand. We also adopted a new by-rule concerning getting six-packed, we called it nut-bonked. If you nut-bonk a player(especially a facial) you get two points, whether they play it back or not. I know this game probably doesn't sound like much fun to you but here on Maui we have to improvise sometimes.
4.1.00- Gas Flash! lowest on Maui is $2.01 and that is not an April Fools joke.
